US Heightens Surveillance of Suspected Hezbollah Affiliates

(MENAFN) Amid escalating friction with Iran, American intelligence and security agencies are reviewing individuals within the United States who are either confirmed or believed to be associated with Hezbollah, though "there are no credible threats at this time," according to various media sources.

This renewed vigilance follows stern "warnings from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei," which came after "President Donald Trump's" public discussion of potential military options against Iran and his open suggestion that "Israel may target Iran’s leadership," as reported by a news agency.

While American authorities consider their most significant danger to be focused on US military installations and strategic assets overseas, officials emphasized a cautious stance to prevent any potential danger within national borders, according to law enforcement sources speaking with the news agency.

In a related development, "the Justice Department" last year disclosed arrests connected to an alleged scheme to "assassinate Trump," underlining the seriousness with which such plots are taken.

The US has further accused hackers backed by Tehran of conducting operations against "Trump’s campaign," implying that cyber warfare remains a viable method of reprisal.

The FBI is reportedly keeping a watchful eye on groups believed to have "ties to Iran," a law enforcement source confirmed to the news agency.

Authorities stress that their primary concern continues to be isolated violent acts and lingering dangers to both current and "former US officials," particularly "Trump."
