Israel Declares Iran’s Nuclear Program Set Back by Years
In a conversation with a German outlet, Sa’ar emphasized Israel’s unwavering stance against Iran's nuclear ambitions, stating that the country is determined to use every available means to neutralize the threat.
He clarified, however, that a shift in Iran’s leadership is not currently a strategic objective. “The Security Cabinet has not yet defined regime change as a goal in this war. At least not yet,” he explained.
Sa’ar voiced strong doubt about the effectiveness of engaging Iran through diplomatic channels. “I don’t really believe in diplomacy with Iran. All previous diplomatic efforts have been unsuccessful,” he stated.
Meanwhile, top European officials underscored the importance of sustained dialogue. During meetings in Geneva, diplomats from the UK, France, and Germany, along with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, convened with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss ways to reduce regional tensions and revive stalled nuclear negotiations.
