Turkey, UAE continue talks on African cooperation in Abu Dhabi

(MENAFN) The Turkish Foreign Ministry has announced that the second round of consultations between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates regarding Africa is set to take place in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The discussions will be co-chaired by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burhanettin Duran and UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan.

The agenda will center on recent developments in Africa and will seek to identify potential collaborative opportunities in areas such as economy, investment, and development throughout the continent.

The ongoing series of discussions regarding Africa between Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates was agreed upon during a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the UAE in February 2022. This decision followed talks held between the foreign ministers of the two countries. As a result of this agreement, the first round of Turkey-UAE consultations on African matters occurred in Ankara on October 10, 2023.
